Palos Verdes CA is located in Palos Verdes Hills of Palos Verdes Peninsula within southwestern Los Angeles in the U.S. state of California.
The main reason why there is influx of people coming to live here in the Palos Verdes area is the beautiful ocean views and sightseeing when driving. The drive along Palos Verdes Drive is one of the finest drives in the United States and that is why the quest to drive pass it is on the increase. Palos Verdes Drive West and South are the highlights, a seaside “yellow brick road” that traces the cliffs, overlooking the Pacific Ocean and Catalina Island.
The center of Palos Verdes consists of several upscale residential neighborhoods (few of which are gated) which are very beautiful but not a tourist center. There is street light in most of the street while driving at night. This help to preserve the rural feel and its natural endowment. You might see wild peacocks walking in the road in some places, coastline views and city light views enjoyed by many of the homes.
There are numerous nature reserves in Palos Verdes like Palos Verdes Estates Shoreline Reserve, Agua Amarga Reserve and Portuguese Bend Reserve which is attributable to the area’s unique natural property. The reserves contain coastal sage scrubs habitats, a community of fragrant and drought resistant shrubs and flowering plants. In August 2009, wildfire burned approximately 165-acres of the Portuguese Bend Reserve but in recent years, restoration has been done to reinstall native plants and animals to the area.
